• Must be 51% or more Ute Indian Tribe, Tribal Member, or Indian owned.
• Extensive due diligence on any tribally owned company, requiring approximately 50 documents.
• Allows UTERO-Certified company to negotiate price; if certified firm meets the price within 20% of non-Indian firm, then employer must transact with a certified firm.
• Ute Indians enrolled with the Ute Tribe have the highest seniority in preference.
• Rules of UTERO Commission must be adopted by Tribal Council to become tribal law.
